Catholic Education Week 2018 Catholic Education: Renewing the Promise May 7-11, 2018
Catholic Education Week 2018 begins on Sunday, May 6th. During the week of May 6th to May 11th, 2018, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board will celebrate the significant contribution that Catholic Education has made to the community, the province and to Canada. Our Catholic Graduate Expectations challenge students to articulate in society those fundamental values that underpin Catholic education. Publicly-funded Catholic education has existed in Ontario since 1841 and its graduates have served Ontario and Canada very well. We believe that the current generation of students in our Catholic schools will serve with the same spirit and generosity as their previous generations.
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is in the third year of our 3 Year Pastoral Plan, which is reflected in the following themes: People of Love, People of Hope and People of Faith. At the core of our plan is the articulation that our students, and indeed all members of our community, are Living in Faith. Each student is nurtured toward the fulfillment of the Catholic Graduate Expectations, to fulfill their God-given potential so that they might transform the world in which they live.
This year, our system and school communities will be engaging in many activities and demonstrations, based on the themes of Catholic Education Week 2018, of how we live our lives as people of faith. The staff of St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School, hopes that many of our families & partners in education will be able to join us this week!
